HIT delivers effective interventions on drugs, alcohol, sexual reproductive health, community safety and other public health concerns. We produce publications, run mass media campaigns, deliver training, organise conferences and provide consultancy. We also provide a drug reference library. We work in partnership with individuals, community groups and health, social care and criminal justice agencies at a local, national and international level.

Publications

HIT provide publications, leaflets, drug cards and a reference library on a wide range of drug, alcohol, community safety, sexual reproductive health, and other public health concerns. Subjects covered include drug abuse information, alcohol body effects, home detox, HIV, chlamydia, cannabis, cocaine, methadone, ecstasy, and young women and alcohol.

Campaigns

HIT work on campaign issues such as safer clubbing, reducing street robbery, young people and alcohol, men's and women's sexual health, and safer injecting. We provide information and raise awareness on behalf of academic institutions, community groups, criminal justice services, Drug Action Teams, drug services, education establishments, Primary Care Trusts and other health services, social services and young people's services.

Training

HIT provides training to facilitate learning and improve practice of the individuals and organisations working to reduce drug related harm. These include specialist drug workers and staff working in health, social care and criminal justice settings. Training courses are held in Liverpool and London.

Conferences

HIT can provide a complete conference organising service to customers primarily in the health, social services and academic sectors. HIT Donates Books To Children's Hospital

HIT are supporters of the Booth Hall Children’s Hospital in Manchester. Nicola Butterworth Chief Executive from HIT recently attended the Hospital to present the Burns Unit with donations of the children’s book Phil the Fire Engine.
