Nutrition, Diet and Exercise for Wellbeing

Additional Info

This course will help participants to understand how eating plays a role in long and short term recovery. Understanding how the food we eat helps the body to recover is a powerful tool in harm reduction.
The healthy eating course was put to the test by two groups of veterans who had long-term drug and alcohol problems and were not impressed by the concept of seeds and anything green. They changed their minds after six weeks and made long-term changes to their diets as a result.

Learning Objectives:

  • What foods are good for the liver and what should be avoided
  • How to incorporate healthy eating into everyday cooking and shopping
  • The long-term impact of eating well and the consequences of eating processed food on the body
