Over two days, this course considers the benefits and risks of cannabis use – including mental health issues – and practical ways of engaging young users and motivating them to make positive changes in their lives.

Learning Objectives

  • To increase knowledge and awareness of cannabis and its use by young people
  • To explore attitudes towards cannabis use
  • To identify dangers of cannabis use, harm reduction advice and strategies to cut down and give up use
  • To identify effective strategies and resources to engage and support young cannabis users
  • To identify and develop the skills needed to engage and support young cannabis users and to recognise our own strengths and areas we may need to improve on
  • To identify what the service needs to do to improve the way it engages with and supports young cannabis users
