Domestic Abuse And Drug Use
This course will examine the relationship between the use of drugs and alcohol by both the perpetrator and victims of domestic abuse and the impacts on any children living in that environment, and explore effective and sensitive ways of working to safeguard the victims and children whilst addressing the substance use of all parties.
Sexual Violence
This seminar will examine the broad scale that sexual violence encompasses. From rape to CSE, grooming to FGM and honour based violence. Despite stereotypes, it is not just confined to female victims or male perpetrators, or carried out solely by strangers on the street at night.
Working With Sex Workers
This course will examine the nature and scope of the sex industry in Britain today. We will look at the history of the exchange of sexual services for gain or favour, the main drivers for sex work and how to reach people. There are many issues facing sex workers and they will be different depending on the sector they are in. We will explore best practice in engaging people and retention in service and how to work with clients with substance use issues.
